He received his B.F.A. in ceramics from Missouri State University and his M.F.A. from Texas Tech University in 2013. In 2018 Zach was elected as the Director At large for NCECA (National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts).

Willow basketry runs deep in my ancestry and can be traced back to my great grandfather who wove baskets out of necessity in the Dakota Territories in the late 1800’s. I learned from my father as a child and have been weaving for over 40 years. I am capable of many different weaving styles as well as living structures.
